Joe in his Studio holding the BR-12, B-Respirator Prototype.

Joe is an educator, designer, and toy maker living in Victor, New York, just outside of Rochester.

As a child, Joe Allgeier was never without something in his hands shaping, building, and experimenting. Growing up in rural Erie, Pennsylvania, he was encouraged by his parents to turn whatever materials were at hand into creations of his own making.

Stone carver Lothar Jobczyk once remarked to Joe, “If Michelangelo had access to an air hammer, a pneumatic stone carving tool, he would have used it.” That observation left a lasting impression on Joe, shaping his belief that the most effective work comes from choosing whatever tools and materials best serve the task at hand.

Joe has evolved from traditional methods of making including stone, ceramics, and wood working to utilizing the unique properties of digital fabrication. He explores the dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and technological advancement. As a designer and inventor, Joe embraces digital fabrication and rapid prototyping tools like 3D printing, CNC, and laser cutting, blending traditional and contemporary materials to create objects defined by thoughtful form and effective function.

Joe founded RESKO Safety LLC in January 2022. The company is currently in the research and development phase for several safety product designs, including the B-Respirator™, a respiratory protection solution designed for men with beards. The respirator is also well suited for individuals with non-standard facial features or for anyone seeking an alternative to conventional half-face respirators. The patent for the B-Respirator™ is currently in the final phase of review with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

In 2023, Joe expanded his creative practice into children’s literature with the publication of his first book, Rooster Training Day, which he both wrote and illustrated. He continued this work with the release of his second children’s book, The Legend of Kirby the Elf, published in August 2025.
